Life taking a left turn

Written last night……..

Well first off, I need to apologize to one of my good friends. I told him that I would do this last night. Sorry man… no excuse I just did not do it.
So now, my life has just changed directions. We are in the process of selling our house moving to OKC and a new job. I start the 24th at the new job and I found out about the company at the beginning of the month. Let me back up just a bit.

At the beginning of the summer we were a little disheartened about my current job. But we decided to give it to the Lord and wait until the end of the summer to even think about it. Someone I worked with first was thinking about having the two of us start a business together. Before that idea really got off the ground he found a company that did what we were talking about that already had the backing and the contracts. He interviewed with them and told them about me. He then called me and told me to send them my resume.  So I did and a few days later they called wanting to setup an interview. That went very well and a few days later they sent me an offer. We talked and prayed about it and accepted the offer.

It feels fast and a little crazy right now. But, I know that God is in control of everything. We placed a large concern in to his hands and said “Ok, this is more then we can deal with here it is God!” He has taken it and given us a path.  My wife was thinking about it this weekend and September 21st is the first day of Fall. That is the last day at my current job.

MIA....

I had one of those random thoughts today. Something made me think of a game that I got for Christmas a number of years ago. Actually it was 2 games, they were dual LCD screen that "clam shelled" together. One was called Donkey Kong 2 and the other was Gold.... something. The games were lost and one of them stood out in my memory as something that I would like to play again to try to actually finish. The problem was that I couldn't remember what it was called. I could only remember the Gold... part of the name. So armed with that and the memory of the game I hit the internet. But the internet was not nice, normally after a few searches I can hone in on what I am looking for. Today however was not one of those days. 30 min later I finally hit on a possible track by doing a general search. You can probably guess where the final big break came from... yes, it was eBay. I found a listing for "Vintage NINTENDO "DONKEY KONG 2" Handheld Game&Watch" That led me to the Video games Vintage (gezzz, didn't think I was that old) systems. From there I found the key words "Game & Watch" that finally unlocked the puzzle. Doing a search for that led me a site that had a list of all the games that they made. And in that list I found them, Donkey Kong 2 and the rest of the name, Goldcliff.
I wanted a ported (translated / recreated) version for my Palm. But I did find some on eBay... now do I really want to just by the silly game. I know I am silly.....

Short Update.....

Yes, It is time for a update...

I am working on putting a list of programs together again but this time for my Palm. I will post that when I have everything installed again.

Things are going we are almost thawed back out again... except for the driveway. 1.5 weeks and counting. I hope there is no ice with this next storm.

Software I use

Ok. I decided to post about some of the many programs that I use to stay connected and that make my life easier. I will try to note the ones that are free. Enjoy!

AVG Free – Anti virus for my computers. Free
Cool Timer – A little timer that I use. Free
Firefox - This is the web browser that I use almost exclusively and yes it is free.
Sage or here - This is my RSS feed reader. It keeps me connected to the 50 or so blogs I try to keep track of. Free extension for Firefox.
Sage Autoupdate or site – Kind of what it sounds like… Free extension for Firefox.
Cooliris Previews - This is sometimes annoying but it opens links in a "preview window". Free extension for Firefox.
Forcastfox Enhanced - This one helps me keep track of the weather. Free extension for Firefox.
These are the radars I like to use with it: Accuweather and NOAA
Foxmarks Bookmark Synchronizer - This one synchronizes my bookmarks on all my computers. Very nice! Free extension for Firefox.
IE Tab – (Grin) This one is cool. It lets me run MS Internet Explorer in a Firefox tab. Free extension for Firefox.
Tab Mix Plus – Just adds some cool features to the tabbed browsing in Firefox. Free extension for Firefox.
Tweak Network – This one um… (cough) speeds up Firefox. Free extension for Firefox.
FS One – The RC Flight simulator that I have and love!
OneNote – A Microsoft product that helps me stay organized and some what paperless. I use this at work and on my laptop.
Trillian – I use this for all my instant messaging. AOL, MSN, Yahoo, ICQ, and IRC all in one program. What more could I ask for? I use the Free version.

Microscopic 2 – The skin I use with Trillian. Free

So yea, I think that is a good list for now…

Sad moments.....

I am sad... many of my friends have decided to turn off the RSS feed for their blog. I fear some have done this unawares by requiring people to login. But, it is still sad... ...I usually read everyone's blog that is updated each day, but now I miss the updates, I forget to check.

To all my friends, I am sorry... and yes, I am lazy.
